Dependencies

The following mods and dlc are required for all of Yagisan’s Expanded Skyrim mods. You should use LOOT to fix your load order, and you may need to use Wyre Bash to make a bashed patch. Additionally, some mods may need to be cleaned using TES5Edit. Without the hard dependencies installed, you will get a crash to desktop on load. They are absolutely needed. The soft dependencies  are automatically detected at run time, on the very first start up of Yagisan’s Expanded Skyrim only. If they are installed, they will greatly enhance your experience with Yagisan’s Expanded Skyrim and enable you to play the mod as it was designed and envisioned.

Please be aware, that while these are dependencies of Yagisan’s Expanded Skyrim, Yagisan does not provide support for those mods. Please contact their respective authors for support on any of these mods. Thank you.

Hard dependencies

Skyrim Script Extender (SKSE) by Ian Patterson, Stephen Abel and Paul Connelly

The Skyrim Script Extender is now an essential component required to run Yagisan’s Expanded Skyrim.  It’s essential for many mods, including SkyUI so most people already have it installed. A version that does not depend on the Skyrim Script Extender will not be made, as the mod now relies on advanced functionality found in the Skyrim Script Extender.

SkyUI by the SkyUI Team

SkyUI is an essential component required to run Yagisan’s Expanded Skyrim. It provides the Mod Configuration Menu (MCM) from which you can adjust Yagisan’s Expanded Skyrim, but Yagisan’s Expanded Skyrim will not actually start until SkyUI has loaded the Yagisan’s Expanded Skyrim Mod Configuration Menu.

Gameplay Soft dependencies

These mods drastically alter gameplay for the better. They technically are soft dependencies, but I can not stress highly enough, that Yagisan’s Expanded Skyrim performs best when these are installed. If they are not your cup of tea, you don’t have to use them, but instead of reinventing the wheel each time, I felt it was far better to rely on these existing high quality mods to give the best gameplay experience.

Apocalypse – Magic of Skyrim by Enai Siaion

Apocalypse – Magic of Skyrim comes with 155 new spells. 31 in each school of magic. This is a rather well balanced spell pack, and in my opinion an essential mod in anyone’s load order. If Yagisan’s Expanded Skyrim detects Apocalypse – Magic of Skyrim, many of these spells will be used by various spell casters. This enables all spell casters to play how they were designed, and not the crippled versions without this mod. It is highly recommended that you install this.

Spectraverse – Magic of the Magna-Ge by Enai Siaion

Spectraverse – Magic of the Magna-Ge comes with 42 new destruction spells, and a quest line based on extended Elder Scrolls law. Some of these spells will be used by various spell casters. While not essential, this mod does enable some spell casters to play how they were designed. While the absence of this mod will not cripple any spell casters as badly as the absence of Apocalypse – Magic of Skyrim, Lost Grimoire of Skyrim or Elemental Destruction Magic, it is still recommended to install Spectraverse – Magic of the Magna-Ge.

Dwemertech – Magic of the Dwarves by Enai Siaion

Dwemertech – Magic of the Dwarves comes with 42 new spells spread among the Alteration, Destruction and Restoration schools of magic, and a quest line based on extended Elder Scrolls law. Some of these spells will be used by various spell casters. While not essential, this mod does enable some spell casters to play how they were designed. While the absence of this mod will not cripple most spell casters as badly as the absence of Apocalypse – Magic of Skyrim, Lost Grimoire of Skyrim or Elemental Destruction Magic, it is still recommended to install Dwemertech – Magic of the Dwarves.

Lost Grimoire of Skyrim by Steelfeathers

Lost Grimoire of Skyrim adds 120+ spells to the game across all schools of magic. This enables a mage to be viable with any school of magic, not just destruction, and in my opinion is a recommended mod in anyone’s load order. If Yagisan’s Expanded Skyrim detects Lost Grimoire of Skyrim, many of these spells will be used by various spell casters. This enables all spell casters to play how they were designed, and not the crippled versions without this mod. It is highly recommended that you install this.

Elemental Destruction Magic by reaperix

Elemental Destruction Magic adds earth, water, and wind as new types of destruction magic. This enables a greater variety of destruction magic styles,, and in my opinion is a recommended mod in anyone’s load order. If Yagisan’s Expanded Skyrim detects Elemental Destruction Magic, many of these spells will be used by various spell casters. This enables all spell casters to play how they were designed, and not the crippled versions without this mod. It is highly recommended that you install this.
